Shawnee, OK — The United Way of Pottawatomie County (UWPC) announced that a total of $36,000 was raised at the United Way Masquerade Fundraiser.
The event took place on October 11 at The Grand Casino Hotel & Resort and featured a New Orleans-inspired dinner with the OBU Jazz Quartet, dance performances from DreamCatchers Dance Company, success stories, and UWPC campaign updates. The Citizen Potawatomi Nation contributed 15 cakes for live auction bidding. Ell’s Jewelry donated a diamond cluster ring for the jewelry raffle, won by Cami Engles.
The organization unveiled its inaugural LIVE UNITED Award, honoring nonprofit executive directors who inspire hope and support United Way initiatives. Lacey Holt, Executive Director of Legacy Parenting Center, received this inaugural award.
Casey Bell from BancFirst Shawnee noted: “The United Way continues to make a lasting impact in our community by investing in non-profits that are doing incredible work to create positive change.”
Proceeds from the event contribute to UWPC’s campaign, with funds redistributed to partner agencies in 2023.
UWPC is an independent 501(c)(3) organization serving three counties and supporting 21 partner agencies, with a mission to strengthen communities through collaborative resource mobilization.
